Jamie Shine is an award-winning lawyer and the legal practice director of The Law & Health Collective, a personal injury law firm that seeks to help Queenslanders achieve better health and legal outcomes after an accident. For over two decades Jamie has led teams in a large national law firm focused solely on helping Australians suffering with varying degrees of Traumatic Brain Injuries and catastrophic injuries such as spinal cord damage and amputations. Jamie has experience with claims involving NDIS, NIISQ, complex treatment needs, multi-disciplinary care, home and vehicle modifications, impaired capacity, etc.
Jamie seeks to advocate and create awareness around traumatic brain injuries through her work, particularly in the area of mild TBIs and concussive injuries, and she advocates in this space through her non-executive director positions with not-for-profit organisations like Connectivity Traumatic Brain Injury Australia, Concussion Legacy Foundation Australia and Youngcare.
Jamie is a past President of Women Lawyers Association of Queensland (‘WLAQ’) and past Secretary of Australian Women Lawyers (‘AWL’), and the 2022 winner of the Leneen Forde AC Woman Lawyer of the Year Award by WLAQ.
Jamie created this firm with a vision of wanting to help those injured, through no fault of their own, feel supported in trying to get better as part of the compensation claim. She aims to provide big firm experience without the big firm price tag and costly overheads. Jamie wants to work with people who genuinely want to get better.
